Hey, Hank, you were one of the few walk-ons we had here at camp. And Gordon Zach told me about you and said you're a heck of a teammate. We think you can be an asset to our ball club. And we have you on the board there. I'm not sure where you're going to play yet. We have you as a *** rover somewhere, probably in the outfield. But you have a heck of a responsibility to keep the fans happy. We like your energy, I don't think you're quite as fast as you are. But because of what you've done here, you're going to make the club, and Gore, could you present Hank with his jersey, and he officially made the team today.

Sad news from the Milwaukee Brewers: Hank “The Ballpark Pup” died Thursday. In February 2014, a stray dog wandered into the Brewers' spring training facility in Maryvale, Arizona. The dog didn't know what would happen next in his life. The Brewers players, coaches and staff immediately took a liking to the little dog, and he spent nights at their Arizona homes. He was named after Milwaukee baseball legend Hank Aaron. But when spring training ended, the Brewers couldn't leave Hank behind and gave him a spot on the team (see video above). He even had his own “house” at Miller Park, now American Family Field. Hank was officially adopted by the family of Brewers Chief Operating Officer Marti Wronski. “The Ballpark Pup” quickly became a star in town. He was even named “Dog of the Year” at the 2015 World Dog Awards. “Our family truly loved Hank and we are so grateful for the 10 years we had with him,” said Marti Wronski. “Hank seemed to know he was saved by the entire Brewers family and he never met a fan – or human, for that matter – that he didn't love. It breaks our hearts to be without him, but we are grateful for the joy he brought to so many and the spotlight he brought to animal rescue.” Hank also helped raise money for the Wisconsin Humane Society. The Brewers and Wronski family asks that anyone who wishes to honor Hank's life please donate to the Wisconsin Humane Society or the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission.
