Fourth suspect arrested in connection with the killing of an 18-year-old outside a Newton County gas station, the sheriff's office said

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a young woman outside a Newton County gas station in July, the sheriff's office said.

Newton County officials said they arrested 19-year-old Caryon Grier of Conyers on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Damenica Roddy.

According to the sheriff's office, Roddy was shot shortly after 1 a.m. on July 21 outside a Chevron gas station near Highway 36 in Covington.

Grier is charged with murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Last month, the sheriff's office announced that it had arrested three other 19-year-old suspects – Tirell Tommie, Israel Richardson and Savion Walker – on the same charges.

All four suspects are being held at the Newton County Detention Center.
