Three types of drugs found during traffic control

A Ruston man was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on drug charges and outstanding warrants.

Roy Lee Williams, 40, was driving a vehicle on South Farmerville Street in Ruston around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to a Lincoln Parish police officer's report. The officer checked the vehicle's license plate and found it was uninsured.

After Williams was stopped, it was discovered that his driver's license was suspended and he was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court.

Williams was arrested and a search of his vehicle revealed a backpack containing two bags of cocaine and two bags of marijuana. A bag of methamphetamine was found under the driver's seat.

Williams was arrested at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to resell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell, possession of cocaine with intent to resell, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, no liability insurance, and the two warrants out of Ruston.

Bail was set at $45,000.
