UPD issues campus alert after domestic violence incident on campus | Crime

University police issued a campus alert Thursday following a domestic violence incident in the University Place parking garage on Tuesday, according to a WVUToday press release.

A domestic violence warrant has been issued for the suspect, identified as Saquan TyQuil Moore. UPD released a photo of Moore as officers search for him, the release said.

“No university staff or students were involved” in the incident, and Moore has been banned from WVU campus effective immediately, the press release said.

Both the suspect and the victim immediately left the area following the incident, the press release said. After responding, officers conducted witness interviews and obtained surveillance footage from the area.

UPD is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 203-293-2677 or the department office at 992 Elmer Prince Dr.

“I want to publicly thank the individuals who immediately reported this incident,” UPD Chief Sherry St. Clair said in the press release. “We tell the WVU community to say something if they see something, and this is a direct result of that.”

Students seeking resources on domestic violence can call the WVU Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center's 24-hour hotline at 304-292-5100. Students can also call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

In case of emergency, call 911.
