Wanted man arrested with loaded gun; woman caught shoplifting at Marc's: Middleburg Heights police report

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Arrest Warrant Served: Pearl Road

A wanted 33-year-old Cleveland man was arrested on Pearl Street around 10:30 a.m. on September 5.

A license plate camera alerted police that a Cadillac CTS connected to a crime was traveling on Pearl Street near Lucerne Drive.

Police subsequently learned that the Cadillac's registered owner, the Cleveland man, was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office for rape and sexual assault.

Police spotted the Cadillac heading north on Pearl Road at Bagley Road. They activated their dome lights and siren and stopped the car on Pearl north of Smith Road.

The police quickly exited their patrol car and ordered the man to get out of the Cadillac. He obeyed and was arrested.

In the glove compartment of the Cadillac, the police found a loaded pistol, which he was not allowed to possess due to the arrest warrant.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

A 59-year-old Middleburg Heights woman was cited around 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 after she was caught stealing merchandise from Marc's Deeper Discount Store, 6849 Southland.

A security guard at the store saw the woman put some items in a shopping cart and others in a bag. At the self-checkout counter, she paid for some of the items, but not all of them.

The woman left the store without paying for all the goods. The security guard stopped her outside.

Warrant served: Engle Road

A wanted 41-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested at approximately 9 p.m. on September 9 at the Quality Inn, 7233 Engle.

Police were called to the hotel because the woman refused to leave. They learned that she was wanted for aggravated menacing in Middleburg Heights and driving under the influence in Brooklyn.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

A 50-year-old Cleveland woman was cited around 2:30 p.m. on September 6 after she was caught stealing merchandise from Giant Eagle, 6869 Southland.

A Giant Eagle security guard stopped the woman after seeing her drop several items into a bag and leave the store without paying.

The woman had previously stolen goods from Giant Eagle.
