Justin Timberlake expected to take plea deal in Long Island drunk driving case – NBC New York

Justin Timberlake is due in court on Friday, where he is expected to plead guilty to a lesser offense related to his drunken driving arrest in the Hamptons several months ago, according to a spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney.

It is not clear how severe the penalty for this offence might be and whether and what fine might be associated with it.

Timberlake had his license revoked for refusing to take a breathalyzer test during a traffic stop in Sag Harbor in June. He had previously pleaded not guilty to one count of drunken driving, and his lawyer insisted in early August that he was not drunk.

Justin Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving in Sag Harbor, Long Island after refusing to take a chemical test three times.

Timberlake was charged with the offense on June 18 after police said he missed a stop sign and left his lane in Sag Harbor, a former whaling village mentioned in Herman Melville's classic novel “Moby-Dick” and located in the Hamptons, about 100 miles east of New York City.

The boy band singer turned solo star and actor was driving a 2025 BMW around 12:30 a.m. when a police officer stopped him and found him to be drunk, a court document said.

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, he could not divide his attention, his speech was slowed, he was unsteady on his feet, and he performed poorly on all standardized sobriety tests,” court documents say.

According to the documents, Timberlake, 43, told the officer at the time that he had been drinking a martini and following some friends home. After being arrested and taken to a police station in nearby East Hampton, he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The ten-time Grammy winner began performing as a young Disney Mouseketeer, rose to fame as part of the boy band NSYNC and launched a solo career in the early 2000s.
