UPDATE5:30 – Police arrested a suspect in connection with a road rage shooting in Excelsior Springs yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

The incident reportedly began at an area retailer and culminated in a shootout at the corner of Schwartz and Route 69 near a veterinary clinic. Police asked for the public's help in locating the suspect's vehicle after he fled the scene. The suspect, described as an older white male, was later taken into custody. Formal charges are pending.

No injuries were noted in the report.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO – Excelsior Springs police said a citizen was involved in a road rage incident Thursday afternoon.

The incident reportedly began at an area retailer and culminated in a shootout at the corner of Schwartz and Route 69 near a veterinary clinic. The suspect's vehicle fled the scene. It was described as a dark blue, large Chevy van with Ohio plates. The driver's description was an older white male. A spare tire was last seen on the rear door.

Anyone with identification can call 9-1-1. Police believe the driver may be armed and dangerous. No information about injuries was provided in the report.
