Police in Eastern Berks are asking for information about a ring stolen from an elderly woman's finger

Crime Alert Berks County, a citizen crime-fighting initiative, is offering cash rewards of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest in this or any other case or crime.

Anyone with information about crimes can call 877-373-9913 at any time or contact Crime Alert through the website www.crimealertberks.org or the AlertBerks smartphone app. No one will ask for the caller's name; they will be assigned a code number.

Police Summary: Eastern Berks Regional Police are requesting assistance in investigating a theft. Police took a theft report from the family of an 86-year-old woman who lives in a care facility in Boyertown. They reported that on August 22, a family member noticed that the woman's wedding ring and engagement ring were missing from her finger. The theft is believed to have occurred between August 20 and 22. The facility management has fully cooperated with police in the investigation.
