Traffic accident interrupts traffic in Jefferson City on Thursday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Following an accident on Thursday in Jefferson City, traffic was disrupted on Highway 50 above Lafayette Street.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. and involved four vehicles. It occurred when an F-350 truck rammed the rear of another truck that was stopped in traffic, setting off a chain reaction, according to a Jefferson City police press release.

Three people suffered moderate injuries, police said. Two were treated on site and another person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident. Traffic was closed to one lane for about 30 minutes, police said.
