Former Burlington student arrested for threatening social media post about elections and high school

Burlington police arrested a former Burlington Area School District student on Thursday after the 17-year-old allegedly posted a threatening social media post that made reference to the upcoming presidential election and Burlington High School. Police said the former BASD student is being held in the Racine County Jail. In a news release, officials did not provide information about the content of the threat, but said the social media post has been removed and this was an isolated incident. Police said there have been no other threats against the high school or the community. The case is being reviewed by the Racine County District Attorney's Office.
