K9 Tega assists in major drug arrest in West Liberty – Peak of Ohio

On Thursday, police dog Tega played a key role in a drug-related arrest in West Liberty.

The incident began when police observed a silver station wagon with dark tinted windows failing to stop at a stop sign.

The vehicle was stopped and sniffer dog Tega was sent out to sniff the car outside.

As Tega methodically worked her way around the vehicle, she indicated the presence of narcotics by sitting on the seam of the passenger door.

After Tega's alarm, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.

They discovered several empty pill bottles, one of which contained a valid prescription in the name of the driver, Harley Nott, 46, of Urbana.

Additionally, a glass pipe and a clear plastic bag containing 18.26 grams of methamphetamine were found under the driver's side floor mat.

Nott was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail to face charges of possession of a Schedule II drug.
