Former substitute teacher charged with sexually abusing two students in Monongalia County

A former West Virginia substitute teacher is accused of sexually abusing two students. The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office arrested 50-year-old Brian Kain on two counts of sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust over a child. According to officials, the allegations against Kain were made in May 2024. Those allegations stated that Kain had sexual relations with two students at Morgantown High School between 2000 and 2004. In addition to Morgantown High School, Kain worked in the Wheeling, West Virginia area and the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. Kain turned himself in to the Sheriff's Office and has since been released on $25,000 bail. Anyone with information about Kain during the period 2000 to 2004 is asked to contact the Monongalia County Detective Division at 304-291-7218.

According to officials, allegations were made against Cain in May 2024. According to these allegations, Cain had sexual relationships with two students at Morgantown High School between 2000 and 2004.

In addition to Morgantown High School, Kain worked in the Wheeling, West Virginia area and the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area.

Cain turned himself in to the sheriff's office and has since been released on $25,000 bail.
