Police: Human remains found in Two Rivers belong to Elijah Vue | News

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WKOW) — Human remains found on private property in Two Rivers last Saturday belong to missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue, Two Rivers police confirmed during a news conference Friday.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you today that these remains have been identified as those of Elijah Vue,” said Police Chief Ben Meinnert.

You can watch the press conference on the Two Rivers Police Department Facebook page.

Vue had been missing since Feb. 20. His remains were found about 3 miles northwest of where he was originally reported missing, Meinnert said.

Meinnert said the area was searched several times by various search and rescue teams in the weeks and months following Elijah's disappearance.

Elijah was living with Katrina Baur's boyfriend, Jesse Vang, when he disappeared.

Vang told police that when he woke up from a nap on February 20, Elijah was missing.

Vang and Baur are both charged with child neglect.

Police, as well as representatives from local, state and federal agencies, will be present during the press conference, which is expected to take place at 4:30 p.m. Officials say they will not take questions.
