IAM Union sends a message to members of IAM District 751 and W24: Our solidarity will win this fight

WASHINGTON, September 13, 2024 – Brian Bryant, International President of the 600,000-member International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), released the following statement on the strike by members of IAM District 751 and W24 at Boeing Co.:

“Our members' rejection of the Boeing contract was a resounding victory for the entire aerospace industry and workers' rights. Boeing must now deliver a contract that respects their values and gives them the dignity they deserve.

“Your no vote was a clear mandate. Boeing must stop undervaluing its workforce. Our employees deserve a contract that reflects their hard work and sacrifices.”

“The IAM stands firmly behind its members. Together we will fight until Boeing makes an offer that our members accept. Our strength lies in our unity, and we will not give in until they get the compensation they deserve.”

“I call on Boeing to reopen negotiations and offer a contract that truly benefits our members. Boeing's success depends on our members. It's time they recognized their contributions with a contract that recognizes their value.”

“This fight is about more than just a contract. It is about communicating to all our members that Boeing appreciates their sacrifices over the past decade. We will win this fight because our solidarity is unwavering.”

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is one of the largest and most diverse industrial unions in North America, representing approximately 600,000 active and retired members in aerospace, defense, airlines, railroads, transportation, health care, automotive and other industries.
