Oasis Restaurant and Bar in West Fargo closes – InForum

WEST FARGO – The Oasis Restaurant and Bar has announced it will close at the end of September.

The last day of business at 3147 Bluestem Drive is September 29, according to a sign near the store's entrance.

Co-owner John Weng said the casual fine-dining restaurant, which specializes in Cajun seafood but also serves popular American dishes, never really took off.

“We are not losing money. But we are not making any money here either. I don't want to spend any more time on it,” Weng said on Wednesday, September 11.

“It was a good idea at first, but I don't think North Dakota was interested in things like seafood stews,” he said. “We've invested two to three years in the place. That should stop.”

Weng said anyone who has a gift certificate can redeem it or receive a refund before the restaurant closes.

Oasis opened on February 25, 2022 in the building that originally housed the BLVD Pub, right on busy Veterans Boulevard.

A sign at the entrance to Oasis Restaurant and Bar in West Fargo informs customers that the last full day of business will be Sept. 29, 2024. Co-owner John Weng said Wednesday, Sept. 11, that gift certificate holders can redeem them before the restaurant closes or receive a refund.

BLVD opened in late spring 2016. However, it closed in March 2020 with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and never reopened.
