Police say a motorcyclist died after a car crash in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man died Friday night in a crash between a motorcycle and a car in Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood.

Authorities said the accident occurred around 7:46 p.m. at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Howland Street.

A motorcycle was traveling west on Adams Avenue and, according to police, the motorcyclist collided with a silver Ford Crown Victoria that was turning north from the eastbound lanes of Adams Avenue onto Howland Street.

The 26-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle was taken by paramedics to Albert Einstein Medical Center and pronounced dead at around 8:15 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the Ford Crown Victoria remained at the scene of the accident.

The accident investigation department was also on site.
