Texarkana volunteer coach arrested and charged with engaging children in sexually explicit conduct | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Arkansas State Police this week arrested a Texarkana man who worked as a volunteer coach on charges of sexual contact with a child and possession of child sexual abuse material, state police said Friday.

According to a state police news release, investigators determined that 34-year-old Alejandro Mendoza had exchanged inappropriate photos with minors after Nevada County authorities forwarded a citizen's complaint about Mendoza to state police in July.

Authorities booked Mendoza into the Nevada County Jail on Wednesday on charges of engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a child and possession of material depicting sexually explicit conduct with a child, the release said.

Mendoza was held on $250,000 bail while state police continue their investigation and authorities expect to file additional charges against him, the release said.
