Shots fired on Frederick Douglass High School campus after brawl

Atlanta Public Schools posted a statement on its website explaining Friday's events.

ATLANTA – Shots were fired on the campus of Frederick Douglass High School on Friday after a school bus was chased by two people in a car before a fight broke out, according to Atlanta Public Schools.

No students were injured in the shooting, Atlanta Public Schools officials said.

School officials said one of the school buses from the 9th Grade Academy was followed to the high school's main campus, where two as-yet-unidentified individuals exited the vehicle and began fighting with several students. Then, according to APS officials, one of the unidentified adults pulled out a gun and began firing the rifle.

Officers assigned to the school responded after hearing multiple gunshots. In a video obtained by 11Alive, several people can be seen engaged in a physical altercation on the ground in front of a school bus before what appears to be four shots are fired. Once the gunshots are heard, people in the video run away in panic.

Below is a photo from the video of the moment the fight broke out.
