Indy man arrested for drug and weapons offenses

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 20-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested Saturday night on drug and weapons charges, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release Friday.

IMPD officers arrested Keenan Treadwell, a suspected drug dealer who was in possession of two firearms and several pounds of marijuana when he was arrested.

On Saturday, IMPD detectives located Treadwell during a traffic stop. The detectives found evidence that suspected him of active drug trafficking. Treadwell was also in possession of a firearm during the traffic stop. Because the detectives knew of Treadwell's suspected drug trafficking, a search warrant was issued for Treadwell's residence.

Later that same day, after the search warrant was executed for Treadwell's residence, investigators arrived at the residence and found over five pounds of suspected marijuana, over eight pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana, and 14 grams of suspected mushrooms. Investigators also found a second firearm, various drug paraphernalia, and over $2,000 in cash in the residence. The two firearms, drugs, and cash were seized as evidence.

Treadwell was arrested and preliminarily charged with trafficking in controlled substances, trafficking in marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
