Traffic in Chicago: I-94 reopened after accident near Old Orchard Road in Skokie

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) – After an accident, all lanes of the Edens Expressway near Old Orchard Road in Skokie are now reopened.

Illinois State Police said officers were called to a three-car crash with minor injuries on the Edens Expressway near Old Orchard around 3:10 p.m.

One of the three vehicles involved was a semi-trailer truck, which, according to police, caused a rear-end collision with a chain reaction. Diesel then leaked from the semi-trailer truck.

All lanes north of Old Orchard Road were closed but reopened at 6:35 p.m.

A hazardous materials response team was tasked with removing the diesel and oil residues, ISP said.

The driver of the semi-trailer was uninjured. The other two drivers were taken to local hospitals for minor injuries.
