Jane's Addiction show in Boston canceled after Perry Farrell hits Dave Navarro on stage

Jane's Addiction's concert in Boston on Friday night ended abruptly after Perry Farrell appeared to shove Dave Navarro before punching the guitarist.

A video of the video was recorded at the band's performance at Leader Bank Pavilion and quickly spread on social media.

Fans said it was confusing to watch.

“The crowd was confused,” someone posted on X, also noting that while half the audience seemed upset that the show had ended so early, the rest were “excited” because they “may have seen the last Janes A show ever.”

In the footage, Farrell is seen walking toward Navarro while singing, then appears to shove him as the guitarist continues to play.

The two exchange incomprehensible words, with Farrell hitting Navarro. Several crew members and bassist Eric Avery harass the men. A brief fight ensues and Farrell is escorted off the stage by crew members.

Farrell admitted to having trouble with his singing at a previous show in New York City and apologized to fans on the Pier 51 rooftop earlier this week.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have to be honest with you. There's something wrong with my voice,” he tells the audience. “I don't know if you heard it, but something went wrong. I suddenly can't get the notes right anymore.”

On Wednesday, Avery addressed the incident on Instagram. The band planned a second performance at the venue later that evening.

“I'm looking forward to playing again tonight at this spectacular rooftop venue,” Avery wrote. “I'm optimistic we'll be better.”

It was not immediately clear whether the remaining dates of the band's highly anticipated reunion tour will go ahead as planned, with some fans questioning the band's fate and expressing concern for the singer.

“Ugh. Got a ticket for next Friday in Detroit,” someone wrote on X. “Perry looks like he needs help.”

Others said one should not jump to conclusions.

“We don't know what Perry's problem was the other day so let's not assume it but if it's alcohol/drugs then hopefully he doesn't give in to it today and comes back stronger than ever like he should and can! Perry is one of the best. Everyone has a bad night sometimes,” another person noted. “The band is so solid right now!”

Jane's Addiction recently started touring again after almost 15 years. According to the band's website, tickets for shows are on sale until October 16th.
