Aaron Judge sends Yankee Stadium into a frenzy after hitting a huge grand slam against the Red Sox

Aaron Judge rocked Yankee Stadium with a single swing of his bat on Friday night.

The Yankees captain and former MVP entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and no outs. The Yankees were trailing the Boston Red Sox 4-1.

Then Judge hit a 2-0 pitch to deep right field for a home run that viewers know is gone before it leaves the infield, giving the Yankees a 5-4 lead. The Yankees held on to the lead and won, taking the first two games of the series against Boston and extending their lead in the AL East over the Baltimore Orioles by three games.

The crowd at Yankee Stadium erupted into one of the loudest cheers of the year as fans celebrated their star player's big moment in victory over their arch-rivals.

For Judge, the grand slam actually ended a rare home run drought. Before Friday night's game, Judge had gone 16 straight games without hitting a home run, the longest stretch of his career without a home run. That stretch arguably coincided with Judge's best hitting season to date.

Before his current dry spell, Judge was at his best, hitting nine home runs in his last 10 games, raising questions about whether he had a chance to break his own record for most home runs in the American League, which he set in 2022 with 62 home runs.

Nevertheless, Judge currently has a good chance of winning his second MVP award in the American League within three years.
