Rochester woman killed in three-vehicle crash early Saturday morning

GOODHUE COUNTY, Minn. (KTTC) — A Rochester woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Goodhue County around 1:12 a.m. Saturday morning on Highway 52.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), a Toyota Tacoma was in the southbound lane on Highway 52 northbound at mile marker 91. A Chevrolet Equinox and a Jeep Compass were both traveling southbound when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was identified as a 60-year-old woman from Rochester who was killed, according to authorities.

Marisa Emily-Taylor Johnson of Rochester, driver of the Jeep Compass, was taken to Saint Marys Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Simona Montiel Vera of San Diego, driver of the Toyota Tacoma, was also taken to Saint Marys Hospital for life-threatening conditions.

MSP said alcohol played a role in the accident and that Vera had consumed alcohol.

Authorities said more information would be released on Saturday evening.
