Newton woman charged again with drug offense | KNIA KRLS Radio

A 59-year-old Newton woman with a history of drug possession is facing charges for allegedly possessing a bag of methamphetamine at a Newton nursing home. Newton police have charged Melissa Ann Morris with third-offense possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony. The police report states Morris is free on her own recognizance and her first court date is scheduled for Sept. 24. Newton police say Morris admitted to possessing a plastic bag of methamphetamine that was found at the Acura Health Care Center on Thursday, Sept. 5. The amount of methamphetamine in the bag was not disclosed. Newton police point out that Morris has four previous convictions for drug possession and possession of controlled substances, including a felony conviction in June 2004.
