What you should know

The Wolverines are coming off their first regular-season loss since October 2021 – a dismal performance against a strong Longhorns team. They hadn't lost at home in front of a crowd since 2019, but on Saturday they have a chance to get back on track against an Arkansas State team that has an overall record of 0-10 against Big Ten opponents.

The Red Wolves are 2-0 but needed late strikes to beat Central Arkansas and Tulsa in their first two games. Michigan's offense hasn't shown much explosiveness in its first two games, being held under 300 yards in each, but Arkansas State's defense could be more vulnerable. Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said this week he wants to help the team relearn how to run the football effectively, and Saturday will be a prime opportunity to do so against a run defense that has allowed 199 yards per game.
