Florida State players collide and cause a botched punt in a disastrous play

The first half of Saturday's game against Memphis was a comedy of errors for Florida State from the start.

On the second offensive play of the game, Seminoles running back Roydell Williams lost the ball and Memphis recovered it. The boys eventually kicked a field goal and took an early lead.

Then, after a turnover on downs and a punt on the next two drives, Seminoles quarterback DJ Uiagalelei ended the first quarter with an interception that Memphis converted into a touchdown and gave it a 10-0 lead.

But Florida State's worst play of the half came late in the second quarter after the defense forced a three-and-out and seemingly gave the Seminoles, who had just kicked a field goal, a chance to somehow tie the game.

But Florida State inexplicably gave the momentum back to Memphis. In a disastrous play, punt returner Lawanye McCoy collided with—or was seemingly pushed into—his teammate Quindarrius Jones, leading to a botched punt by the Seminoles.

Memphis also scored a field goal and went into halftime with a 13-3 lead.
