QB Robby Ashford as QB for the South Carolina Gamecocks to open the second half

South Carolina appeared to be taking the lead at halftime until disaster struck late in the first half. South Carolina tried to capitalize on two timeouts late in the second quarter. Starter LaNorris Sellers dropped back to pass on a third down attempt and was tripped on a sack by LSU's Harold Perkins.

Fans wondered if their young quarterback would be back from injury by the start of the second half, but as Sellers attempted to run down the sideline, it was clear he was not 100 percent.

After stopping LSU's fourth-down offense, reliever Robby Ashford came in for Sellers in the second inning. It was a three-and-out before LSU took the field on South Carolina's side.

It remains to be seen if Sellers can return or if Ashford has a chance to win this game for the Gamecocks.
