Victim loses leg, 2 others injured – NBC 6 South Florida

One person lost a leg and two others were injured in a serious accident in Deerfield Beach on Friday evening.

A video shows the wreckage: two cars with shattered windows, completely crushed and disfigured.

The Broward Sheriff's Fire Department shared this video of an accident in Deerfield Beach that left three people hospitalized.

Authorities said it happened around 9 p.m. in the area of ​​SW 10th Street and Waterways Boulevard.

Two men and a woman were treated at the scene and taken to Broward Health North, the Broward Sheriff's Fire and Emergency Services Department said.

“The condition of the patients ranges from serious to severe. In particular, one patient had to have a leg amputated as a result of the collision,” the fire department said.

In order to safely rescue the victims from the wreckage, the rescue workers had to use rescue shears.

It was initially unclear what the cause of the accident was and which victims were in each car.

Authorities have closed SW 10th Street during the investigation and cleanup.

One driver said he was stuck in traffic for two hours.

The investigation is ongoing.
