Accused perverted elementary school teacher on the run, misses court date for lewd acts with a child – Crime Online

Law enforcement is searching for a California elementary school teacher who missed his court date for lewd and lascivious acts with a child.

Steven Carl Schapansky, 54, of Santa Barbara, California, was due in court in Santa Barbara County on Friday to face two felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and 70 lesser felony counts of electronic monitoring. according to KTLA 5.

Schapansky was an elementary school teacher at a charter school in Santa Barbara, teaching 5th and 6th grade. Some of his students are said to have been victims of the allegations Schapansky is facing, namely that he films minors undressing.

Fox 26 News reports that Schapansky was last seen Wednesday in Fresno riding a blue 2021 Honda Monkey motorcycle with California license plate 25H7377. He is described as 6'2″ tall, 205 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair, likely wearing a blue polo shirt, shorts and white shoes.

Although Schapnasky lives in Santa Barbara, he is said to be in Fresno. Law enforcement authorities suspect that Schapnasky may be on his way to Yosemite Park.
