Enfield man arrested, illegal weapons and drugs seized in joint operation

ENFIELD – A joint operation by Enfield Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Resident Offices in Springfield and Hartford, and the New England Special Response Team resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old man and the seizure of illegal firearms and drugs on Sept. 12.

Authorities executed a search and seizure warrant on a residence at 55 Main Street, with the suspect, Rahkeem Blakely, allegedly hindering the execution of the warrant.

During the search, five illegal handguns were discovered – one of which was proven to be stolen –, approximately 400 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine and a large sum of US dollars.

Blakely was charged with numerous crimes, including operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to resell, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, negligent storage of a firearm, obstructing a search warrant, violating the large capacity magazine ban, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree malicious damage to property.

After the investigation was completed, Blakely's bail was set at $2 million.

Enfield Police have not released any further details about the operation or the ongoing investigation.
