2 in custody, accused of killing 2 people and their dog

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Two men are in custody accused of murdering two people and their dog.

According to police, 26-year-old Justin Aleman and 23-year-old Joziah Aleman were charged with the shooting deaths of 55-year-old Angel Aleman, 47-year-old Lydia Hernandez and Angel's dog, Monster.

Police responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive around 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10

Police found Angel Aleman lying on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Lydia Hernandez was taken by EMS to UMC, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

After a coordinated action with the Texas Anti-Gang Center and the Forensic Investigations Unit, Lubbock police obtained arrest warrants for both men and executed them at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Justin and Joziah Aleman were already in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center on other charges when warrants were issued for Justin and Joziah's arrest on charges of double murder and animal cruelty. Justin and Joziah Aleman are currently being held on $400,000 bail.
