After his arrest during the week, Daniel Harris traveled with Georgia to Lexington

Kirby Smart is well versed in handling driving-related arrests on his team, and second-year cornerback Daniel Harris is the latest offender. Harris was arrested Thursday night for allegedly driving 106 mph and was charged with five driving-related offenses.

Harris' teammate Trevor Etienne was arrested in the offseason and charged with drunken driving. Even after the drunken driving charge was dropped, Etienne missed Georgia's season opener against Clemson in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Harris was not charged with drunken driving, and it looks like his reckless driving charge will not keep him off the field for Georgia's 2024 SEC opener against Kentucky on Saturday night.

Harris reportedly traveled to Lexington with the Bulldogs, and the starting cornerback may not receive a suspension from the team for his arrest. Since offensive lineman Devin Willock and team employee Chandler LeCroy were killed in a fatal car crash while tackling former Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter, Smart's program has continued to see arrests for traffic-related violations, including five this offseason.

Harris shares the outside cornerback position with Julian Humphrey and true freshman Ellis Robinson IV. Georgia's defense faces former Bulldogs five-star recruit Brock Vandagriff, who threw for just 30 yards on three of 10 passes against South Carolina last week.

Georgia has enough players to survive a one-game suspension of Harris, especially against Kentucky's lackluster pass offense. Harris is traveling with the team to Lexington, which doesn't necessarily mean he'll be on the field Saturday night.
