Popular Fulton County employee dies after tragic work accident

FULTON COUNTY, Georgia.A high-ranking Fulton County employee died Monday following a tragic workplace accident, the county said in a statement Friday.

William “Will” Ray Wilson worked for more than eight years as a senior foreman for the Department of Public Works.

Robb Pitts, chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, described him as a valued friend and colleague.

“Our thoughts are with the Wilson family and our entire Public Works team during this difficult time,” Pitts said.

Mr. Wilson leaves behind his wife, Janet Coats Wilson, his daughter, Lee Bradley, two grandchildren, and numerous friends and colleagues. Those who knew him best said he enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing.

Wilson's funeral will be held on September 17 at 1 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany on Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, Wilson's family asks that donations be made in his name to Trout Unlimited or CAST For Kids, an organization that connects volunteers who love fishing with children with special needs and supports their families.
