Man arrested in several counties on arrest warrants

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A man was arrested on outstanding warrants in several counties.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division was notified of a wanted man traveling to Franklin County, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

Officers said they located the man and stopped him.

Brandon Lee Vicars, 36, of Roanoke was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He received warrants from four different jurisdictions.

  • Violation of probation for felons in Roanoke County
  • Violation of probation for felons in Rockbridge County
  • Failure to appear outside of Wise County

When officers arrested the suspect and searched the vehicle, they found suspected methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl, according to the sheriff's office.

Lawmakers say the priests could face further charges until lab results on these substances are available.

Vicars is being held without bail at the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
