Trade between Kyrgyzstan and China is growing

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 15. Trade between Kyrgyzstan and China amounted to $3.178 billion in January-June 2024, up 42.5 percent from $2.230 billion in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzstan's exports to China amounted to $48.991 million, up 45.9 percent from $33.589 million in the first half of 2023.

Imports from China reached $3.129 billion, up 42.5 percent from $2.196 billion a year earlier.

In the overall structure of Kyrgyzstan's trade, China occupies the leading position with a share of 41.9 percent. Chinese imports account for 49.6 percent of total Kyrgyzstan imports, while exports to China account for 3.8 percent.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $7.6 billion in January-June 2024. The figure increased by 9.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Within this turnover, exports accounted for 16.9 percent, while imports accounted for 83.1 percent.

Kyrgyzstan's exports in the January-June 2024 period decreased by 3.2 percent year-on-year and amounted to $1.3 billion. The value of goods imported into Kyrgyzstan was $6.3 billion, an increase of 12.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
