Child in critical condition after accident in Chisago County, 4 others injured

In an accident on Saturday morning in Stacy, one child is in critical condition and four others are injured.

Chisago County officials said they received 911 calls about a head-on collision at 10:34 a.m. on Stacy Trail near Falcon Avenue. Officers on the scene determined that five people were injured in the crash, four of whom were in the same vehicle.

A 6-year-old girl who was sitting in the back seat of one of the vehicles was flown to a nearby trauma center. Her condition is critical and her injuries are life-threatening, the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said.

The other four injured were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive.

Authorities say a man is currently being held at a local hospital. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the accident.
