3 dead, 2 in critical condition in fiery crash near New Mexico border

Three people were killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 10 near the New Mexico border.

According to Arizona DPS, a semi-trailer truck and a passenger vehicle were involved in the accident.

Three passengers of the car were killed, two other passengers of the same vehicle are in critical condition.

According to the press release, the trailer caught fire immediately after the collision.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 are still closed and authorities have not released any information on the status of the tractor-trailer driver.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials recommended alternate routes for travelers on Interstate 10.
