The volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China (XUAR) amounted to $8.3 billion. Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Ministry of Commerce Zhang Yuming announced these data for the period from January to July 2024 at the VIII Issyk-Kul International Economic Forum – 2024.

According to him, the trading volume in 2023 amounted to $15.5 billion, which is 19.8 percent more than in 2022.

Zhang Yuming pointed out that the Bedel checkpoint, which was temporarily opened for customs, has become the third land transport corridor between China and Kyrgyzstan, and this will promote the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line.
