OFFICIAL START LIST FOR THE 2024 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX: Who starts where? Demotion of Lewis Hamilton, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly and Zhou Guanyu

A fascinating field at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix promises an exciting race on the streets of Baku, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc starting from pole for the fourth time in a row.

Alongside him on the front row is a McLaren, but not that of title contender Lando Norris, who did not make it past Q1. Instead, Oscar Piastri will fight for the lead into Turn 1, hotly pursued by row two starters Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez.

Baku specialist Perez exceptionally beat his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen, who will start sixth. The world champion is now between George Russell's Mercedes and Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin.

A remarkable performance in only his second Grand Prix saw Franco Colapinto outscore his teammate Alex Albon in the Williams race, meaning the pair will start eighth and ninth respectively. The top ten was completed by the Haas of Ollie Bearman – standing in for the suspended Kevin Magnussen.

Pierre Gasly was happy with his 13th place for Alpine but was then disqualified for an irregularity in his car's fuel flow. He will therefore be demoted to the last row of the grid along with Kick Sauber's Zhou Guanyu, who received a grid penalty at the weekend for using additional powertrain components.

Finally, Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and Esteban Ocon of Alpine have to start from the pit lane after delayed setup and drive element changes. They initially qualified in seventh and twentieth place respectively.
