Georgia teenager charged with bomb threat against Ormond Beach students

An 18-year-old from Georgia was arrested in connection with bomb threats made against certain students at Ormond Beach Middle School, police said. Ormond Beach police arrested Kaveon Jah'quez after he turned himself in on a warrant. The investigation began on Sept. 7, 2024, and police determined that while threats had been made, there was no credible or imminent danger to the school or its students. Ormond Beach officials said Jah'quez's Georgia residency was a key factor in the investigation, which lasted several days.
