Based on evidence from the crime scene and “incriminating statements Jonathan made to people he contacted after the murders in which he made confessions,” Jonathan Freeman was arrested.

ROWAN COUNTY, NC — A man is being held without bail following the fatal shooting of two people Saturday, the Rowan County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

It happened Saturday morning on Old Oak Lane in Woodleaf, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said Amanda Burr called 911 around 8:45 a.m. and said a friend – identified as Jonathan Davon Freeman – sent her a photo of Brandon Burr, her husband, lying dead in their home. The sheriff's office said officers were also told Jonathan Freeman's wife, Teri Freeman, was also dead and in the home.

Officers arrived at the scene and found Jonathan Freeman. Both Brandon Burr and Teri Freeman were inside the house and had died from the gunshots.

Based on evidence from the crime scene and “incriminating statements Jonathan made to people he contacted after the murders in which he confessed,” Jonathan Freeman was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

His first court date is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call 704-216-8711.
