Man dies in accident on drag racing track at Wisconsin International Raceway

KAUKAUNA – A 65-year-old man died Saturday night at Wisconsin International Raceway after his vehicle crashed on the drag track.

According to a press release, fire and rescue units from Combined Locks Public Safety, City of Buchanan Fire and Rescue, Outagamie County Sheriff's Office officers and Gold Cross Ambulance were called to the Wisconsin International Raceway on County Highway KK in the City of Buchanan around 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a one-vehicle accident with injuries.

When emergency responders arrived, they found that a vehicle on the drag racing track had crashed into the concrete railing of a bridge and the driver had been thrown from his vehicle into a ditch near the track.

The driver was a 65-year-old man from Outagamie County.

Due to his injuries, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The victim’s next of kin have been notified by Outagamie County officials.
