Official: Barcelona vs Girona starting lineup | La Liga GW5

Barcelona is facing its first Catalan derby of the season; in just over an hour the team will face Girona at the Estadi Montilivi.

Barcelona are already in top form with four wins in four games and will be looking to keep up their momentum and claim their fifth consecutive victory in La Liga, after all, they are back on the field together after a two-week break.

For the first game after the international break, Hansi Flick has fielded what is probably the strongest team available. After all, Girona surprised everyone last season with a sensational series, trampling Barcelona in both matches.

Marc-André ter Stegen retains the duties between the posts, while the central defence remains unchanged and Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi take control.

Jules Kounde retains his duties as right-back and Alejandro Balde starts as left-back after two well-deserved weeks of rest.

Marc Casado will start alongside Pedri in the double six. While the former will take on most of the defensive duties, the Canarian will want to take on more responsibility in the future.

The attacking line will remain unchanged, with Lamine Yamal starting on the right and Dani Olmo and Raphinha taking up the remaining flexible positions behind the striker. The duo will alternate between the left wing and the central role.

Robert Lewandowski, on the other hand, is making his 100th appearance as a FC Barcelona player and is hoping for promotion to the elite league.

On the bench, Flick has valuable resources, including Eric Garcia, Pablo Torre, Ferran Torres, Pau Victor, Hector Fort and the young and talented Guille Fernandez.
