Ubisoft is accused of buying bots to promote Assassin's Creed Shadows

Thousands of players have proclaimed Ubisoft is said to have bought bots to comment on and like the trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows: World.

Gamers are flocking to the Assassin's Creed Shadows World trailer to criticize Ubisoft for allegedly buying bots to write positive comments about the upcoming game. The allegations began on September 14, when gamers noticed that accounts with similar name structures (first name, last name, followed by four numbers) were receiving a similar number of likes on their positive comments.

Furthermore, large portions of these accounts were allegedly created relatively recently and the likes on their comments averaged between 3,400 and 5,100. Furthermore, all of these popular positive comments were posted approximately four hours apart. It is also noted that each of these questioned comments are unique comments, meaning they were written by a human and then bots were used to inflate the number of likes on that comment.

Perhaps the biggest evidence that these accounts were bots is that the comments from the Assassin's Creed Shadows World trailer have disappeared. They were probably deleted by either YouTube or Ubisoft. The main question now is whether Ubisoft paid for the bot comments. Or is the company even aware of the situation?

What is certain is that Ubisoft has a great interest in getting as many positive reactions as possible with the trailer of an upcoming title, especially when that title is already causing enormous controversy due to its price, setting and choppy animations.
