Peewee Longway is reportedly one of 101 people arrested in a $280 million drug bust

Peewee Longway was reportedly arrested along with 101 other people in connection with a multimillion-dollar drug bust in the US state of Georgia.

On Friday, Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman announced in a press conference that his department had arrested 101 people and seized millions of dollars worth of drugs, weapons and cash. The raid was known as “Operation Sweet Silence” and took place Thursday. The operation began two years ago when officials planned to take down street gangs in Columbus.

On the ground, more than 250 agents and analysts from federal, local and state agencies, as well as seven SWAT teams, swarmed the streets of Columbus to arrest numerous individuals considered armed and dangerous.

The drugs seized included 7.1 kilograms of fentanyl, 57.21 kilograms of cocaine, 55,248 pounds of marijuana and 1.3 kilograms of heroin. The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office said the total value of the drugs seized was over $200 million.

There is no official statement on Longway's role in the raid, but several reports said he was arrested along with the 101 suspects. Sheriff Greg Countryman called an end to gang activity in Columbus and issued a warning to anyone still engaging in the abusive and violent crimes.

“If you are involved in criminal activity, I want to send you this message. Just because your name didn't come up in yesterday's arrest, I don't want you to reoffend,” the sheriff said. “I don't want you to breathe a sigh of relief or breathe a sigh of relief because our work isn't done. Just because you haven't been arrested doesn't mean we're not keeping an eye on you. So don't get too comfortable because our work isn't done.”
