Family, age and more for the first-year Texas football quarterback

The name Manning is very familiar to football fans, from Archie to Peyton to Eli.

The latest Manning to arrive on the scene is Texas redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning. The Longhorns' young signal-caller has already impressed fans with his athleticism, but was forced to take on a more prominent role Saturday against UTSA after starter Quinn Ewers left the game due to injury.

According to coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers had a strained abdomen.

However, Texas did not experience a drop in performance at the position. Shortly after his appearance against the Roadrunners, Arch Manning ran a 67-yard touchdown to increase Texas' lead to 28-7 in the second quarter. The run was the longest by a Texas quarterback since Vince Young in 2005.
