Mother of girl killed by illegal immigrants criticizes Cruz's challenger's policies: “Took my daughter's life”

FIRST ON FOX: The mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants, speaks out about the Senate election campaign in Texas and blames Democratic policies for the loss of her daughter.

Jocelyn Nungaray of Texas was strangled and thrown off a bridge by two illegal immigrants in June, authorities said. Two Venezuelans have since been charged with capital crimes in connection with Nungaray's death.

In a new campaign ad first shared with Fox News Digital, Alexis Nungaray details the tragic murder of her young daughter by Venezuelan citizens who illegally crossed the southern border.

Nungaray said her “heart would break again” if Texas Democratic Senate candidate Colin Allred, who is running against Senator Ted Cruz, wins the election in November.

Biden-Harris' open borders policy was illegally released three weeks before Jocelyn Nungaray's murder, mother says

“Jocelyn was murdered by two illegal immigrants, both of whom were released the same day they were arrested. Not even 30 days later, she was found down there in the bayou. She didn't have any pants on. They tied her feet and just left her there like nothing happened. All because of this policy, catch and release,” she said in the new campaign ad released by Win It Back PAC, a fundraising group affiliated with the Club for Growth.

Nungaray referred to Allred's policies regarding the impact of the ongoing refugee crisis.

“And Colin Allred's enforcement of these policies ultimately cost my daughter her life. She couldn't graduate, she had children. If Colin Allred is elected, it would break my heart again. Really. Allred didn't kill my daughter, but his policies are the reason she's dead.”

Allred had previously called Nungaray's murder a “tragedy” and then tried to deflect blame by accusing Cruz of using the murder as a “political attack.”

Nungaray testified before the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month about her daughter's death and sharply criticized the Biden-Harris administration's border policies.

“Because of the Biden-Harris administration's open borders and catch and release policies, they were placed in the Alternatives to Detention program,” Nungaray told lawmakers. “That meant they were released into the United States. It was less than three weeks before they took the life of my daughter, Jocelyn Nungaray.”

“They saw a young girl, my daughter Jocelyn, and they targeted her without her even knowing,” she said of the murder suspects. “They were seen on video at 12:57 a.m. on June 17th crossing the road on the bayou under the bridge. At 3:04 a.m. only the two illegal immigrants came out. They were down there for two whole hours. I can't even imagine what was going on in Jocelyn's head, the fear she felt in the last moments of her life.”
