Drug charges filed after woman found asleep at wheel of parked car – WGRV.com

Police were called to a convenience store in the 1600 block of West Andrew Johnson Highway on Saturday night because a person had apparently passed out behind the wheel of a car.

Last night at 9:30 p.m., officers arrived and observed a woman named Brittany Brock of Susong Memorial Road slumped over the steering wheel of the car, asleep.

When she woke up, officers reported that she was slurring her speech. She was asked to take a breathalyzer test, which she failed poorly.

A search revealed a bag containing 50 tablets of suspected Xanax, another bag containing approximately 2 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be meth, and a metal pipe with white residue inside.

Brock consented to a blood draw and was taken to the Greene County Detention Center, where she was charged with driving under the influence, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of methamphetamine.
