Alvin Kamara and Rashid Shaheed get Saints going against Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas – The New Orleans Saints offense has seen no interruption under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The Saints have scored on all 12 offensive plays this season, and running back Alvin Kamara scored three of them early in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Kamara's second touchdown of the day came in the second quarter when he caught a screen pass from Derek Carr, found an open running lane and ran 57 yards, giving the Saints a 21-6 lead. He added a 5-yard run to make it 28-13.

The Saints had already scored in the first quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run by Kamara and a 70-yard touchdown by Carr to wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

Shaheed had a clear lead from the start of his route on the first play of the Saints' second drive. Carr's pass flew through the air for 50 yards and Shaheed effortlessly found the end zone, giving New Orleans a 14-3 lead.

Shaheed's touchdown catch was the longest the Cowboys have allowed since a 73-yard pass from Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf in Week 13 of last year. According to ESPN Stats & Info, it was the deepest passing touchdown (50 air yards) the Cowboys have allowed since a 2012 game against Washington.

The longest play the Cowboys allowed in their Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns was 29 yards.
