Jermaine Antwoine Lewis, 25, is facing murder and other charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man outside the Sonic Soft car wash on Saturday afternoon.

According to Prince William County police, officers were called to the car wash in the 14100 block of Richmond Highway in Woodbridge shortly before 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 to investigate a shooting.

Investigators say the two initially engaged in verbal warfare before a second scuffle ensued, during which Lewis pulled out a gun and shot his victim in the torso. A second woman, 25-year-old Vinisha Lanisa Neville of Woodbridge, also pulled out a firearm during the incident before the two left the area.

Lewis and Neville were tracked down and arrested by Virginia State Police on I-95 in Fairfax County. The 54-year-old man who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died of his injuries.

An outside wall of the car wash was also hit by gunfire. No further injuries or property damage were reported.

Lewis was charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting from an occupied vehicle. He is being held without bail pending his next court date. Neville was charged with use of a firearm. No details about her bail or court date have been released.
